Bert's Diner

Bert's Diner (The cars:1953 Buick Custom with a chopped top,1940 Ford Custom,1932 Ford High Boy Roadster)

Bert's Diner began as a design for a die-cut building for a Revell/ Monogram model kit. The kit was called " Highway Scenes" and features a 1969 Ford Talladega with a die-cut diner diorama. Originally the painting just featured the diner. It was photographed and then became that die-cut diner in the model kit, however, as a painting it remained unfinished until the idea of super imposing some cool rods and customs crossed my mind.  Then the diner received a reworking and a background was added. The diner was modeled after a spot  where I had my first job. The diner was a powder coated steel manufactured by the Valentine Diner Company out of Wichita, Kansas.
