Last Of The Hot Ones

| Last Of The Hot Ones (The Car: 1927 Ford Model T, Runabout, or a 27 T-Bucket Roadster) In the shadows of the past she sat as a reminder that all her yesterdays are somewhere behind her. The frame cast her low, next to the ground while her nose aims west toward where we are bound. In the cool of the evening, in that resting position, she beckons to me to strike the ignition. She Lit right up, as she sprang in to action, shifting her gears and giving me traction. I was already convinced, It was not a hard sell, that she was ready to rip, like a bat out of hell. She fired on all eight, heading into the sun, spinning new yesterdays in a synchronous hum. She's a blast from the past, in my dreams this is spun, She's "The Last Of The Hot Ones", and as fast as a gun. (oil on canvas 1997)
